The Essex fairytale:-

The production used a trailer approach which hooks the audience very well if devised properly. Their main key technique was the use of a narrator; this technique really grabs the audiences’ attention both visually and by audio. The first shot was the main character with a mid-shot range to get the surroundings of the character. The entire trailer was in black and white which gave the trailer a classic effect. During the trailer there was use of props; mainly the gun which linked to the genre being a U.K gangster film. The clothing of the main character was well dressed in a suit which links back to the genre as well. The directors decided to use disequilibrium in the beginning; which was great to grab the attention of the audience. The trailer contained non-diegetic sounds for example the narrator and the theme song being played at the background.

Their also used non-diegetic sounds such as the narrator and the songs; which changed to the scene displayed. The directors deiced to use an equilibrium beginning so they controlled the amount information the audience receives and keep them guessing. Throughout the trailer the shots were mid range and long range shots to keep the background involved which linked with the scene.
